Dear Mom & Dad:

No – I haven’t shipped yet! They just can’t bear to see me go I guess. I’m still on the order tho so it’ll surely happen one of these fair days.

All of us on the order have been relieved from Co. duty & all we’ve had to do for the last week is stand 2 formations each day – at 8:30 A.M. & 1:30 P.M. The roll is called & then we’re dismissed. Consequently I’ve been in Frisco every other afternoon last week. I’m on “borrowed time” now so am naturally making best use of every moment.

Last Sat. I went in the Emporium & checked on my proofs. They both came out pretty fair so am having 2 pics made of one & 1 made of the other. It cost me an extra dollar to use both proofs but I figured it’s worth it. You can give Dot one of the 2 that are the same, but of course that’s for you to decide.

Enclosed you will find some snapshots taken on the beach in San Francisco on Sun the 17th. We had a big time that day bicycling thru the famous Golden Gate Park where some of the pictures were taken. Don’t you think Roger & I are sportin’ a couple of pretty nice gals? I hate to brag but we sure can pick ‘em!

I have some more pictures to send you but the envelope is too small to hold the rest, so I’ll send them just as soon as I find a larger one.

Enjoyed your letter of the 13th – it certainly was bubbling over with news. I was especially interested in hearing all about Swany & Sykes. Had a letter from Swany just yesterday in which he gave me a complete history of his escapades so far – very interesting. Yes – I knew about Mickey’s anticipation – Lee seemed to have the lowdown. Can’t imagine who told him.

So the Elmer J.’s are getting a new “Olds” – some class to those people!

This business of Art’s being a married man comes as a complete surprise. Wonder if it’s true – let me know if you find out anything.

That was unfortunate about Nora & Dick’s losing their farm. They had such a nice set-up there. I’ll bet it broke their hearts to lose it.

The straying footlocker has not shown up as yet. I’m going to write to Sill again & try to get some action on it.

Will say so long for now – I’m off to mail call. I’ll write again soon.

Love,

Dorance
