Dear Dip: (or should I say Prvt. Dip)

Just thought I’d drop you a line to let you know that Bob (Prvt. Coll) is reclining in the hospital at the moment. I thought maybe you didn’t know he was sick and if you did, you might pay him a visit.

I just found out he was sick. I don’t know just what it is, but I guess he expects to be in the hospital for some time.

I’m sure some of your subtle(?) humor would be most welcome to his ears.
